October Half Term Holiday Creative Wellbeing Workshops

Through this October Half Term week, BCE will be leading a series of creative wellbeing workshops, designed especially for young people aged 11-16 with SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities), and / or EBSNA (Emotionally Based School Non Attendance).

With a different themed activity each day, students can choose to join us for a single session or fill their week by joining us for a session every day. Simply select the days and times that work for you by clicking the ‘Book Now’ button below.

Our enrichment workshops, each limited to a maximum of 8 young people, are especially beneficial to those who may experience anxiety, feel overwhelmed in social situations or have low self esteem at times, with the teaching of life skills which extend beyond the studio walls and strategies for life and communication. The skills and experiences gained through our workshops will benefit future social interactions and experiences within the family, school, friendships and self expression.

Each 3 hour workshop will follow an autumnal theme with a range of creative and expressive activities especially designed to support the young persons wellbeing and are led by a SEND specialist qualified teacher, Senior Designated Mental Health Lead, EBSNA (Emotionally Based School Non Attendance) Practitioner and Attachment Lead.

The structure of each workshop will include a warm welcome, breathing and self-regulation warm ups, gentle introduction to our small group (maximum of 8), introduction to the theme, skill and artistic technique for the day and practising the communication skill for the day.

Workshops take place at our beautiful studios in Ashburton, with spaces dedicated to promoting mental health and wellbeing for young people with SEND and their families.

Additional benefits for attendees include strategies they can take away for maintaining calm and balance, communicating with others, expressing ideas and making a contribution to a team. Techniques gained in the workshops support confidence and self esteem as well as develop self efficacy and problem solving attitudes.

All resources for the workshops are included, along with refreshments at break, and students take home what they produce along with the strategies and techniques that will benefit mindfulness and communication beyond the studio on the day.
